Today Andre Iguodala decided to opt out of his final year of his contract with the Nuggets, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski. So what does this mean for the Kings?
It means Vivek Ranadivé will be able to throw big chunks of money for a player that would instantly make the Kings a potential playoff contender.
Sacramento needs a small forward with a versatile skill set, which Iguodala has in his arsenal and it helps that he is only 29 years-old. Ranadivé should consider this major investment as soon as he hires a general manager.
Maybe if Ranadivé hires Nuggets’ VP of basketball operations Pete D’Alessandro as the GM, Iguodala will consider Sacramento as a possible destination.
Just envision Isaiah Thomas, Tyreke Evans, Iguodala, Jason Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins as your starting five with a defensive minded head coach in Mike Malone who has a real system in place unlike Keith Smart.
But this is only a hypothetical.
Just for the sake of conversation, who would you want the Kings to draft and sign this summer?
